The 117-acre Mud Lake Wildlife Area is a public hunting area that surrounds the western half of Mud Lake in the Town of Roxbury and is primarily grassland and crop fields, with a small isolated woodlot in the north central portion. Parking is available on Inama Road.

Special hunting regulations:

• The use of rifles, slugs, pistols or muzzleloaders is prohibited for hunting all legal game and predator species within the Mud Lake Wildlife Area.
• Trapping is prohibited on this property by Dane County Board Action.  These lands are not required by the State to be open to hunting or trapping.
