Badger Prairie County Park is a 317-acre park located just east of the City of Verona at the intersection of County Highway PB and US Highways 18/151. It serves as the center of the Ice Age Trail Junction Area and offers a wide range of recreational amenities, including a shelter facility, play fields, mountain bike trails, a playground, an 8-acre dog park, a 2-acre small dog park, and an aeromodeling field.
The large play area offers something for all ages and features a poured-in-place rubber surface to improve accessibility. Highlights include a large climbing structure with multiple slides, rope climbers, bridges, and interactive play panels, as well as spinning features that add more movement-based play opportunities. An adjacent tot play area includes a playhouse, musical instruments, stone seating, and a pea gravel play space.
Accessible walkways and picnic tables are located throughout the site. Updated restrooms also include adjustable-height changing tables to better support a wide range of users and caregivers.
The park also provides access to the Military Ridge State Trail and a segment of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail.
Badger Prairie County Park is also home to Reddan Soccer Park, managed and operated by Madison Area Youth Soccer Association (MAYSA). MAYSA is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to foster the physical, mental, and emotional growth and development of South Central Wisconsin youth through the sport of soccer at all ages and levels of competition.
