Established in 2011 as the Partners for Recreation & Conservation (PARC) Grant Program, the initiative provided funding assistance to local governments and nonprofit conservation organizations for outdoor recreation and conservation projects with regional benefits. It later evolved into the PARC & Ride Bicycle Grant Program, which supported expansion of bicycle trail connectivity across Dane County through matching grants to municipalities and facilitated numerous regional trail connections.
The program has not been offered since the 2023 funding cycle. Dane County Parks does not anticipate reopening it in the foreseeable future. No new applications are being accepted at this time.
Projects already under contract remain funded and may proceed to completion and closeout under existing grant agreements and timelines.
