Event Description
The Family Learn to Paddle program is designed to introduce families to the joys and skills of canoeing in a safe, supportive, and fun environment. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience on the water, this program offers hands-on instruction for all ages and skill levels. Participants will learn the basics of canoeing, including some paddling techniques, safety protocols, and how to work as a team on the water. This program is perfect for families looking to spend time outdoors, build lasting memories, and develop a new shared hobby. By the end of the session, families will have the confidence and skills to enjoy canoeing together on their own, whether on a local lake or during their next adventure.
PFD's are required to be worn at all times on the water - if you do not own your own, one will be provided. Stewart Lake County Park provides a great location to learn to paddle on still water in a confined area.
Age: All (at least 2 individuals age 9 and up must be in each canoe to paddle and all children should have an adult present)
Cost: $25 per boat*
Registration is required.
*Our canoes can fit 3 adults, or 2 adults/grown children and 1-2 small children. Only one person in your party has to reserve a boat.
